Flickering Issue with Dell Vostro 1450 Screen

I reviewed my laptop, Dell Vostro 1450 last year, well I have been using it rigorously, watching movies, browsing internet for hours and to be very true, I use it for about 12-15 hours a day(well, in extreme cases this goes well beyond 18 hours a day when my brother and sister use it also, after I log off). It worked pretty well for about a year and a half, and still runs fine, the boot time has been improved after I upgraded the RAM to 4 GB, formatted and increased the size of C drive to 100 GB to give it some breathing space, it was earlier 50 GB(which was always full). So after doing everything right, cleaning the drives weekly, keeping antivirus and internet security software up to date, I encountered an err... a hardware issue, my screen started showing white line, and after a while, it became so many lines(video below, white lines starts appearing at 8 seconds).

At first, I thought it to be a driver related issue, and I googled it, but after few days, it increased and almost started covering half the screen, and they went away when I adjusted the screen. Sometimes, it went crazy and I had to pull out the battery to overcome it. After about a week of suffering from it, I realized that it was an issue related to temperature. As I was using it in an AC room, the white lines slowly started to go away, and after about 30 minutes, when the room was cold enough (22 degrees on AC), there were absolutely no signs of white lines, even when I adjusted the screen. They went away, but came back again next day when I started the laptop. I took some pictures of it(posted below), and again turned on my AC, and noticed the same behavior. Now, it is been a month and it seems to be getting alright, though it does flicker sometimes a bit when I start it, but that is a rare case now, but hey, as I am writing this, it started again. I am thinking of getting a cooling pad for my laptop to overcome it.

If you are facing similar issues, let me know and share your experiences and fixes you made to overcome it.
